Mary Ellen Miller, 76, of Minden, formerly of Axtell, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Bethany Home in Minden. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Bethany Lutheran Church south of Axtell with the Rev. Marcia Dorn and Rev. John Gosswein officiating. Interment will follow services at the Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Craig Funeral Home in Minden. Memorials in Mary Ellen's honor are kindly suggested to the Bethany Lutheran Church in Axtell or to Bethany Home in Minden. Craig Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mary Ellen Miller was born on October 12, 1942 in Cushing, IA to Harold and Lucile (Schmidt) Burow. She received her education from Cushing Consolidated Schools. On September 23, 1962, she was united in marriage to Benny W. Miller in Cushing and to this union, two children were born, Keith and Barbara. The family later lived in Cherokee, IA and Watertown, SD before moving to Axtell, NE.
Mary Ellen was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Axtell and she enjoyed square dancing, camping, fishing, cooking, baking and knitting. She also enjoyed the time her and Ben spent as members of the Old Mill Twirlers and the Watertown Promenader's square dancing clubs.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Benny Miller; son, Keith Miller and wife Sandy; daughter, Barbara Sitzman and husband Gary; grandchildren, Misty Beeler, Michael Beeler and wife Heather, Melissa Beeler, Kevin Miller and wife Jade, Kelsey Randall and husband Chanler; great-grandchildren, Dominique White, Brezlin Beeler, Tripp Beeler and Kaysen Randall; sisters, Marcia Woodford and husband Charles, and Annette Severson, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant brother.
