Obituary

Randall "Randy" L Warnken, 73, of Hildreth, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at his home. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Fredericksburg Lutheran Church, south of Minden, with Rev. Donald Hunzeker and PMA Julie Schmidt officiating. The family request those in attendance wear casual or Husker attire. Inurnment will be held following the service at the Fredericksburg Lutheran Church Cemetery. There will be no visitation or book signing. Memorials in Randy's honor are kindly suggested to the Hildreth Volunteer Fire Department or to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Randall "Randy" Lee Warnken was born on February 18, 1952, in Minden to Irvin and Lorraine (Hemje) Warnken. He grew up in the Hildreth area, graduating from Hildreth High School and Kearney State College.

He was united in marriage to Ann Marie Madsen on November 11, 2011, in Minden. The couple made their home on the farm in Hildreth and in Minden. Randy was a member of the Lutheran Church in Hildreth. Randy was a self-made farmer and loved tending to his cows and watching the new calves. Some knew him as "Watermelon Warnken", "Marathon Man" and was known to be one of the best "Hay Men" in the area. He was also a life-long Husker fan.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Ann; step-daughters, Carmie (Justin) Glanzer, and their children, Brooks and Bronson; Carissa Gould, and her children, Ike, Angus, Getty, and Bode; and Camille (Nick) Collins, and their children, Lucas, Liam, and Amelia; brother, Terry (Marilyn) Warnken; sister, Deb (Ron) Knaus; sister-in-law, Connie (Lymon) Reiss; special nieces and nephews, Alan (Heather) Warnken, Ashley (Derek) Konert and their children; Shayla Warnken; Melissa (Mike) Jakubowski and special great-niece, Taylor Jakubowski; as well as extended relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Monty Warnken and Daniel "Tinker" Warnken.
