Randall Edward Horine was born December 7, 1949, in Minden, NE, to LeRoy and Marie (Graves) Horine. He grew up and attended school in Santa Monica, California, Norman, and Minden, NE, graduating with the Minden High School Class of 1968.
Following high school, he married Laurie Rogers, and they welcomed a daughter, Angelique, on September 13, 1969. The couple later divorced. On January 5, 1975, he married Erna Nelson. With this union, stepdaughters Lisa and Leslie joined his life, and the couple welcomed a son, Randall, on December 28, 1977.
The family made their home in Minden, where Randy worked at Minden Beef and Morton Buildings before later owning R & R Delivery as the milkman. Together, he and Erna also owned and operated Erna's Steakhouse and Erna's Southfork Drive-In.
Randy was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, the Nebraska Walleye Association, and the Gold Prospecting Association. An avid hunter, fisherman, and trapper, he also enjoyed countless hours playing Pinochle and Pitch. He was a lifelong Husker fan. Camping was one of his favorite pastimes, first with his wife and children, and later continuing the tradition with Erna for many years.
Randy treasured time spent with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Known as a true jack of all trades, he could fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a hand.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Angelique Horine of Kearney; son Randall (Angie) Horine of Minden; stepdaughters Lisa (Scott) Sinsel of Minden and Leslie (Joe) Weller of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren Ina Jo Trotter, Emily Trotter, Addison Horine, Clayton Horine, Kayla (Heath) Anderbery, Brendon (Kate) Sinsel, Karly (Tyler) Branstiter, Riley (John) Blake, Sophia (Tyrell) Younger, and Chloe Weller; great-grandchildren Miles, Jordy, and Paxton Anderbery; Kellen and Jack Sinsel; Everett and Stevie Younger; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
