Randy K. Murphy, 63, of rural Minden, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at CHI Health – Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. A celebration of life open house will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Windmill Studios, located at 521 N Colorado Avenue in Minden. There will be no visitation. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at the Norton Cemetery in Norton, KS. Memorials in Randy honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation. Craig Funeral Home in Minden is assisting the family.

Randy Keith Murphy was born on July 7, 1960 in Norton, KS to Thomas Keith Murphy and Ethel Marie Henry. He grew up in the Norton area and graduated from Norton High School with the class of 1979. Randy and Denise Hill were blessed with three children: Tyler, Kylie, and Uriah.

Randy was employed for many years with Husky Hogs of Long Island, KS and retired from that in 2014. Randy was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He took pride in being a BBQ Pit Master, artist, and gun enthusiast. In his earlier years, he enjoyed being a D.J. for event venues around the Norton area. Randy also loved his beloved pet snakes.

Those left to cherish his memory include his significant other of many years, Hope Dunmire of Minden; children, Tyler (Natalie) Hill of Upland, Kylie Murphy of Minden, and Uriah Murphy (Robbin Adams) of Heartwell; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandson on the way; brother, Ricky Murphy; as well as a host of extended relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his sister, Vicki Baker.
