Richard "Rick" C. Johnson, 65, of Minden, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024 at his home. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024 at The Windmill in Minden with Pastor Jim Reier officiating. The family requests casual attire. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials in Rick's honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Richard Charles Johnson was born on July 1, 1959 in Minden to Gene and Janice (Thompson) Johnson. He grew up in Minden and attended Minden Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1977.

He was married to Janelle Jacobitz on October 3, 1980, and the couple later divorced on December 29, 1983. After being together for 39 years, he was united in marriage to Della Burritt on January 12, 2024.

Rick helped his dad with construction while he was in school, then worked at Mid-Nebraska Lumber until it closed. He began working at Coast to Coast for Jim and Judy Runions, eventually buying the store from them in in 2000/2001. Rick enjoyed being at the store and visiting with customers, prior to purchasing the store, he enjoyed spending time at the lake and fishing.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Della Johnson of Minden; sisters, Joyce Gardner and Mary (Terry) Luberda; nephews, Nic (Alexis) Gardner, Dallas (Brandie) Gardner, Eric (Emily) Johnson, Dan (Sophie) Harris, John (Andrea) Harris; brother-in-law, Richard Burritt and special friend, Carol Homick; sisters-in-law, Kris (James) Gillespie and Susan (Troy) Unzicker; as well as a host of nephews and nieces, extended relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Janice Johnson; brother-in-law, Pat Gardner; parents-in-law, Richard and Sandra Burritt; and sister-in-law, Cindy Lantis.
