Richard "Rick" L. Hauserman, 78, of Minden, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Kearney County Health Services in Minden. Private family services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be held later at the Minden Cemetery. Memorials in Rick's honor are kindly suggested to the Minden Volunteer Fire Department. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Richard "Rick" Lee Hauserman was born November 7, 1946, in Holdrege, to Theodore and Evelyn (Rinehart) Hauserman. He grew up in the Huntley, Nebraska area and attended school at Huntley Public School, graduating with the class of 1965. Following graduation, he furthered his education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

Rick was united in marriage to Melodee Braun on June 26, 1966, in Holdrege, and to this union, two children were born: Angela and Erik. The family made their home in Holdrege, later moving to Grand Island, and finally moving to Minden in 1972.

Rick farmed with his parents in Harlan County until suffering a stroke in 2014. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His hobbies included classic cars, antiques, travel, history, and working on his Victorian home.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Melodee of Minden; daughter, Angie Hauserman of Kearney; son, Erik and wife Susan Hauserman of Minden; grandsons, Ryan and wife Angela Hauserman of Lincoln, Jake and wife Cierra Hauserman of Doniphan, and Seth Hauserman of Lincoln; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Sunny, and Lucas Hauserman, and one on the way; sister, Linda Gaffney of Holdrege, as well as a host of extended relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his in-laws, Don and Rogene Braun.
