Robert "Bob" M. Walsh, 85, of Minden, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. A memorial book signing with family present will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minden, with Rosary and Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. with Fr. Evan Winter officiating. There will be a Celebration of Life open house at the Windmill Studios in Minden, following the Rosary. Mass and burial will be held at a later date in Kimball, SD. Robert "Bob" Michael Walsh was born on September 2, 1940, in Kimball, SD to Philip and Francis (Blasius) Walsh. He grew up in Kimball; graduating from Kimball High School, before attending South Dakota State University in Brookings, where he earned his degree in Animal Husbandry.

He was united in marriage to Janice "Jan" Toupal on June 2, 1962, in Kimball, SD and to this union four children were born: Mike, Marty, Missy and Mindy. Bob worked as a cattle buyer his entire career, beginning in 1962 with Hormel in Austin, MN then transferring to Huron, SD. The family moved to Kearney, NE and finally ended up calling Minden home. Through the years he also worked for IBP, Gibbon Pack and Monfort/Swift. Bob and Jan also owned and operated BJ's Red Lounge and Steakhouse in Minden. After retirement, his hobbies included refinishing old furniture, the annual South Dakota pheasant hunt, watching Nebraska football and volleyball and never passing up a trip to Vegas. Bob could often be found in Mindy's garage enjoying patio therapy and always announcing to all "just one more sleeping pill".

Bob was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Kimball, SD and St. John's Catholic Church in Minden, NE.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jan Walsh of Minden, sons; Mike (Karen) Walsh of Garden Plain, KS; children, Jordyn and Cale. Marty (Georgette) Walsh of Omaha. NE; children, Brayden and Allison. Daughters; Missy (Ed) Korth of Schuyler, NE; children, Brandon, Garrett, Brittney and Haylee; Mindy Walsh of Minden, NE; child, Macy; 12 great-grandchildren; Sister-in-law, Pat Walsh of Sioux City, IA; Brother-in-law, Huck Toupal of Desert Air, WA, Sister-in-law, Sharon (Kent) Mosher of Salem, OR; Special friends, Aaron Stec and Nate Bishop; as well as a host of extended relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Philip Michael Walsh; mother, Francis Marie Walsh; sister, Vivian Goepfert; brothers, Dale Walsh and Butch Walsh; great-grandson, Jacob Gurnsey; father-in-law, Boob Toupal; mother-in-law, Irene Toupal; brother-in-law, Lenny Toupal; and sister-in-law, Rose Toupal.
