Robert "Bob" W. Shearer, 84, of Minden, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Country House in Kearney. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Craig Funeral Home in Minden with Pastor Greg Clark officiating. Inurnment with military honors will be held following the service at Liberty Cemetery. There will be no visitation or book signing. Memorials in Bob's honor are kindly suggested to the Liberty Cemetery, Minden Opera House, or to the Church of Christ in Kearney. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Robert was born on November 15, 1940, in Minden, to William C. Shearer and Gladys I. (Daily) Shearer. Robert grew up on the family farm west of Heartwell, where he spent all his life. He graduated from Minden High School. He faithfully served his country for six years with Nebraska National Air Guard in Lincoln, NE.

Robert was united in marriage to Marlene G. Onwiler on September 5, 1964, and to this union, two children were born: Penelope (Penny) and Robert (Rob). The couple later divorced. He was united in marriage to Margaret "Peg" A. Davis on March 17, 1995.

Robert was a lifelong farmer. He loved repair work and metal machine work. He was talented beyond words and could fix just about anything.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Peg of Minden; children, Penelope "Penny" and husband, Matt Talbert of Minden, and Robert "Rob" A. Shearer of Kenesaw; grandchildren,
Nicole (Kerry) Hatfield of Ohio, Tad (Kaylyn) Talbert and Mercedes (Robby) Anderson of Minden; stepsons, Tom Johnson of Colorado, Mark Johnson of Texas and David Johnson of California; great-grandchildren, Rebecca, James, Clara and Samual Hatfield; Allison, Eli and Oliver Talbert; Barry Nielsen, Sadie and Harper Anderson; as well as a host of extended relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
