Roberta J. Schwartz, 84, of Lincoln, formerly of Hildreth, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hildreth with Rev. Caroline Schenk and Rev. Marcia Dorn officiating. The service will be streamed to the church’s YouTube page. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials in Roberta’s honor are kindly suggested to the Hildreth Public Library or to BraveBe Child Advocacy Center in Lincoln. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Roberta J. (Cole) Schwartz was born in Kearney, NE on June 19, 1942, to Robert and Lucille (Voiles) Cole. She attended public schools in Kearney and furthered her education at Kearney State College and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where she attained a degree in Social Work.

On October 17, 1964, she was united in marriage to Neal R. Schwartz at the First United Methodist Church in Kearney. From that union, two children, Rebecca and Scott, were born. The family resided in Hildreth.

Roberta, Neal and family farmed in Kansas for many summers while Neal was employed at Schwartz Brothers Implement, Inc. in Hildreth. In 1983, she and Neal established “Schwartz Enterprises” a hardware store in Hildreth, which they operated for 20 years. Roberta worked at the State Bank of Hildreth and was employed as an aide at Wilcox-Hildreth Middle School.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, PEO, and served on the Hildreth School Board for 8 years. She loved playing bridge, working with flowers, and doing crossword puzzles but especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Neal Schwartz of Lincoln; daughter, Becky (Rob) White of Lincoln; son, Scott Schwartz of Lincoln; grandchildren, Anna White, Max White, Sally White, Alex Schwartz, Emma Schwartz, and Lily Schwartz; brother, Jon (Connie) Cole; brother-in-law, Dale Schwartz; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Connie (Morgan) Wells.
