Roma Lee Anderson, 96, of Minden passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Kearney County Health Services, with her family by her side. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 29th at Minden United Methodist Church with Rev. Kayla Mangrich and PMA Julie Schmidt officiating. The service will be streamed to the church’s YouTube and Facebook pages. Inurnment will follow the church service at the Minden Cemetery. Memorials in Roma’s honor are kindly suggested to Bethany Home in Minden or to Minden United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Roma Lee (Space) Anderson was born in Upland, Nebraska on March 11, 1930, to Leland and Ruby (Anderson) Space. She was the oldest of six children. She graduated from Upland High School in 1947.

On February 4, 1951, she was united in marriage to Dean W. Kile. They made their home in Minden. To this union four children were born: Steven, Rick, Scott and Shellie. Following Dean’s passing on April 5, 1970, Roma was left with the difficult task of raising her young family alone.

On January 14,1972, Roma married Leonard A. Anderson in Minden. They resided in Minden and Roma worked at the grocery stores in town until 1996. She sold Avon for more than 35 years.

Roma attended the United Methodist Church and was active in church circles. She and Leonard enjoyed travel, including two trips overseas to Iceland and Sweden. They met many friends at Legion and Forty and Eight Conventions and they could frequently be seen on the dance floor. She enjoyed music, playing bingo and cards with her friends. Most of all, Roma loved her family and always looked forward to holiday gatherings.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Steven (Sharon) Kile, Rick (Marilyn) Kile, Scott (Nancy) Kile, and Shellie (PJ) Stec; step-children, Brenda (Dale) Swenson and Wayne (Brenda) Anderson; grandchildren, Jeff (Jennifer) Kile, Sandi (Breanne) Kile, Sarah (Jeff) Swanson, Joshua Kile, Aaron Kile, Jason (Naomi) Kile, Anna (Jarred) Schmidt, Amy (Nathan) Buchanan, Brooke (Kiel) Holmes; step-grandchildren, Michael (Michelle) Anderson and Anita (Steve) Robben-Novacek; fourteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Gayle Space, Don (Sandy) Space and Royce (Carolyn) Space; in-laws, Wayne Kile, Darryl (Kay) Kile, and Dorothy Anderson; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, including special niece Jodi Swartz.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Sherryl and Richard Swartz; brother, Darrel Space; step-grandson, Eric Robben; granddaughter-in-law, Rachel Kile; brother and sisters-in-law, Willene Kile, Erva (Carl) Hubert, LaVerne (Darlene) Kile, Don (JoAnn) Lammers, and Lloyd Anderson.
