Saul Barboza Mantano, 45, of Minden passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, as the result of a motor vehicle accident. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minden with Fr. Evan Winter officiating. Inurnment will be held in Tamazula de Gordiano Mexico at a later date. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Saul's honor are kindly suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.
Saul Barboza Mantano was born, the youngest of five, on September 28, 1980, to Juan Barboza and Rebeca Mantano De Barboza in Tamazula de Gordiano, Mexico. He grew up in Mexico and attended school there until moving to the United States in 2004.
He was blessed with three children: Juan, Emili, and Saul Jr. The family made their home in Minden and Kearney. Saul was employed in various fields and specialized in welding and farming. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and animals, especially raising chickens and quail. Saul loved his family and was considered a father figure by most of his nieces and nephews. He was great at teaching life lessons.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Juan Barboza, Emili Barboza, and Saul Barboza, Jr. all of Kearney; mother, Rebeca Mantano De Barboza of Sidney; brothers, Juan Barboza and Efrain Barboza both of Mexico; sisters, Maria Barboza of Minden and Amparo (Lloyd) Stott of Sidney; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Barboza.
