Shirly "Jack" Dean Jackson, 83, of Minden, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Kearney County Health Services in Minden. Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden with the Rev. Donald Hunzeker officiating. Military honors will be presented following services at the church by the Minden American Legion Post #94 and the Heartwell Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post. Inurnment will take place at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, NE. There will be no visitation as the family is honoring Jack's wish to be cremated. Craig Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jack was born on April 18, 1934 in Riverton, NE to Fred and Cora (Schriner) Jackson. He grew up and received his education in the Riverton area. He honorably served his country from 1954 to 1956 with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On January 23, 1970, he was united in marriage to Eunice Witte in Minden. Jack owned and operated Jackson Auto Repair in Axtell for over 39 years. He also owned the Kerr-McGee Service Station for 10 years.

Jack was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden and the Minden American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, restoring vehicles and spending time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Eunice; sons, Kenneth Beattie and Michael and wife Cori Beattie; daughters, Susan Bass and Jacqueline Langer; four grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
