Terry D. Christiansen, 69 years of age from Minden passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Memorial services will be on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden with Rev. Christopher Hazzard officiating. Burial will be prior to the memorial service in the Minden Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden on Tuesday from 4-6 p.m.
Terry was born on August 14, 1947 in Minden, Nebraska to Duane and Shirley (Rupprecht) Christiansen. He grew up in the Minden area and graduated from Minden High School. Terry attended college. On January 23, 1972 he married Nancy Etzelmiller. They lived in Minden. Terry was a co-owner of Mason's Market in Minden; then owned and operated Ben Franklin in Minden. Terry later worked as a salesman for United Distillers. Nancy passed away in 1993.
Terry was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden; he enjoyed horse racing, hunting with his son, Tim, golfing and coffee with the guys at Gary's Auto in Minden. He was a perfectionist; he was meticulous and liked having things neat and tidy. He also loved the 4th of July.
Survivors include his granddaughter, Riley Christiansen and her fiancé, John Blake of Kearney; sister Connie Bates and husband, Lanny of Minden; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; son, Tim and his parents. Memorials are suggested to the family to be distributed later.
