Tye Y. Waterhouse, 51 years of age from Kearney, NE, formerly of Minden passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at CHI Good Samaritan in Kearney. Celebration of Life services will be on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Evangecal Free Church in Minden with Rev. Tom Barnes officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery prior to the celebration service. Layton-Craig Funeral Hme in Minden is in charge of services.
Tye was born on May 23,1964 in Colorado Springs, CO to Clayton Eloe and Linda (Kammerlohr) Eloe. When Tye was five weeks old, Clayton died. Linda later married Jerry Waterhouse who adopted Tye and his sister Kelley. Tye grew up in Colorado and Davis, CA where he graduated from high school. He earned a BS in Oceanography from Humboldt State and a MS from
San Jose State.
Tye met Cherie while attending HSU. They were married and were blessed with two daughters - Ally and Patrice. They spent three years living in Bermuda where he worked at the Bermuda Biological Station for Research. He spent a good deal of time sailing and doing research in every ocean except the Southern Ocean. He also worked at Scripps Institute of Oceanography and Amylin Pharmaceuticals which were both in La Jolla CA. In 2006 they moved to NE to be near family and he began working at BD in Holdrege as a Quality Engineer and attending Minden EFC.
Tye is survived by his wife Cherie, daughters Ally and Patrice -graduates of Minden High School currently of Kearney, Mother Linda of Johnson Lake, sister and brother in law Kelley and Curt Dachtler, Brother and sister in law Todd and Jennifer Waterhouse, nephews Chad and wife Emily Dachtler, Chase Dachtler, Gage and Cole Waterhouse all of Kearney, Aunts and Uncles Shirley Eloe Ourada, Tom and wife Sharon Kammerlohr, and Kent Kammerlohr. Tye is preceded in death by his brother Tony Waterhouse, grandparents Marjorie and Maurice Kammerlohr ,Thelma and Frank Eloe, and by his fathers Clayton Eloe and Jerry Waterhouse.
