Warren Lyn Hahn was born on February 13, 1962, in Kearney to Allan and Ruth (Nietfeld) Hahn. He attended Shelton Public School and graduated with the class of 1980. He attended Central Community College in Hastings where he received a degree in welding. Warren worked for Schafer Implement in Hastings as a mechanic and welder following college. Later, he moved back to Shelton to farm with his dad and brother, and most recently, with his son-in-law, Ryan.

On May 4, 1985, Warren was united in marriage to Janean Longsine at Mt. Calvery Lutheran Church in Holdrege. The couple had two daughters, Emily and Lindsey. He enjoyed watching his daughters grow up, attending their school sports activities, and welcoming their friends over the years. He could always be counted on for a loving hug and open ear to anyone who needed it.

Warren gave his time to various boards and organizations. He served for six years on the Buffalo County Extension Board, volunteered with the Shelton Goodfellows, and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

An avid Allis Chalmers fan, Warren had a cherished collection of orange tractors on the farm, including his favorite "D17", which he drove in parades. He was humbled and honored to be chosen as the Grand Marshal for the Shelton 4th of July parade this year. Warren played Santa Claus for 36 years and enjoyed the children's smiles, stories and Christmas wishes. He loved listening to 70's music and had unmatched air guitar skills. Traveling, participating in the Nebraska Passport program, fishing, tractor pulls, and stock car racing were some of Warren's favorite hobbies. He could often be found sharing stories with friends at the neighbor's machine shed or lending a helping hand to someone in need. He brought the life to every gathering and had such a positive, generous energy about him that was infectious.

Warren was a devoted family man and man of faith. Being "Papa W" to his four grandchildren was a title he treasured.

Warren was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ferdinand and Ida Nietfeld; paternal grandparents, Alfred and Josephine Hahn; mother-in-law, Marilynn Longsine; brothers-in-law, Rick Leppert and Craig Longsine; sister-in-law, Linda Longsine; and nephew, Joshua Longsine.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Janean Hahn; daughters, Emily Kegley (Ryan) of Kearney, and Lindsey Hochstetler (David) of Crete; grandchildren, Connor and Ava Kegley, and Hailey and Harlyn Hochstetler; parents, Allan and Ruth Hahn of Kearney; brother, Mark Hahn (Kary Gill) of Shelton; sisters, Rene' Lego (William) of Grimes, IA and Carolyn Koenig (Stephen) of Shelton; father-in-law, Keith Longsine of Holdrege; and sister-in-law, Lori Behnken (Todd McMeekin) of Osceola; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
