William "Willie" K. Wommer, 60, of Minden, entered eternal rest on Monday, December 1, 2025 at CHI Health – Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the First Christian Church in Minden with Kay Tira officiating. Interment will be held following the service at the Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Craig Funeral Home in Minden. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Willie's honor are kindly suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

William "Willie" Karl Wommer was born on June 24, 1965, at Kearney County Health Services in Minden, Nebraska, to Virgil R. and Leelsla Mae (Bremer) Wommer. He attended Minden Public Schools graduating in May 1984. He then attended Nebraska College of Technical Agricultural in Curtis graduating in May 1986. He returned home to farm the family farm. He was later employed by Baldwin Filters (Parker) in Kearney and continued to work there until his death.

In March 1992, he was united in marriage to Brenda Sims. They were blessed with a daughter, Alexis, and later grandson, Paxton. They were the light of his life.

Willie enjoyed spending weekday mornings with his friends having breakfast, coffee, and conversation. He was an avid Husker fan and enjoyed cheering for them in football, volleyball, baseball, and softball. He enjoyed watching the Huskers with his mom, Leelsla. He also enjoyed the times that he was able to attend Husker games with his daughter and niece.

William is survived by daughter Alexis Wommer and grandson Paxton of Gaylord, Kansas; sister and brother-in-law Esther and Wayne Reimers of Boelus; brother-in-law Ruben Wehnes of Inland; nieces and nephews, Stephanie and Heath Cutler of Omaha, John and Alyssa Kahle of Minden; great nieces and nephews, Rylan, Liliana, Katherine, Keegan, Scarlett, and Evelyn; aunts and uncles, Clarice and Darrel Bailey of Lincoln, and Bernard and Mary Bremer of Hastings; cousins, Karianne (Gene) Wyse, Mary Nuss, Jim Haws, Kirk (Kristen) Brumbaugh, Kim (Wayne) Sharples, Kristine (Gary) Stohs, Skip (Kathy) Bremer, Doraine Bailey (Robert Tincher), and Denise (Ron) Arrigo; as well as many extended family members and friends.

William was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and LeeIsla Wommer; sister, Anna (Wommer) Wehnes; grandparents, Emil and Clara (Becker) Bremer, and Edward and Carrie (Hawkinson) Wommer; aunts and uncles, Donald and Jean Wommer, Quintin and Edna Brumbaugh, and Irvin and Elaine Haws.
